About
Hi, I would like to welcome you to my website
My name is Jerry Matthews. I moved to Alaska with my family in 1969 and have spent most of my life here, living in Anchorage, McKinley Park, Soldotna, and for the last 20 + years in Kasilof on the Kenai Peninsula.
Photography has been part of me since I received my first camera, a Kodak Brownie, for Christmas in the early 1960’s, my first 35mm SLR in 1972, and my first digital camera in 2002. With the advancement of technology into a digital age it has allowed me to experiment with photography in the last few years that I never did in the film days.
I have been fortunate to live and work in a place that has allowed me to experience the wildlife and scenery of Alaska. I am usually found with my camera, as you cannot predict when you may be presented with an opportunity. Now retired, I am able to spend more time looking for photographic possibilities and sharing these encounters.
Thank you for visiting, please use my contact or comments pages if you have any questions or comments.
